Already tested and used on all hardware and software for HTPC.My best experience has now come with a media center based on Fusion APU from AMD.The machine runs XBMC 11.0 (Eden),more precisely XBMCBuntu,and exceeded all expectations.

As you know the older readers,I am enthusiastic audio and video systems,as well as a passion for music,which leads me to constant experiments with equipment in the home theater system home.TV,projector,receiver boxes and were very well chosen and do not generate disquiet upgrades. After this long introduction,let the combination that finally convinced me.The system was assembled and set this week with the following specifications for the core hardware.

• Motherboard AsRock A75M-ITX
• AMD A8-3870K APU
• Memory 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 OCZ
• Kingston 64GB SATA2 SSD

To control,use a control Philips SRM5100 universal old war,who runs XBMC and other equipment in the room.In addition,of course,use the official app control of XBMC via Android,which allows me to choose any item from the collection and command media playback being anywhere in the house.

Anyone who has ever messed with XBMC Live know that there are plenty of hardware there,because the system is very fast and the interface appears fluid and responsive machines with far less robust.In my experience,you should not build a HTPC with hardware within the "minimum requirements".A gap is always welcome.

The first reason for wishing processing is left to the acceleration of high definition video done by the GPU does not always work,or at least does not work as we would like.It is true that XBMCBuntu can today accelerate HD videos using a nVidia GPU ( VDPAU ) or ATI ( VAAPI ),but there are situations in which acceleration can talk or even,in some cases it is necessary to disable it to solve compatibility issues with specific encoding some video files.
